Welcome

to the SINGKREIS, the choir of the Austrian Club. 

We are a group of men and women, mostly German speaking, with some non German speaking Australian members as well.  We sing to have fun, gain confidence and enjoy meeting with like-minded people through folk/traditional music. 

Repertoire

As the Austrian Club we have a particular emphasis on Austrian and German folk songs, but old English songs and Australian folk songs are also part of our repertoire. Accompanying us on his accordion is Nev Brunton, also known as Nifty Nev or Fritz. Several times per year we learn new songs for performances at our Club House, other Clubs, Retirement Villages and Nursing Homes.

At the moment the choir is busy practising new songs for upcoming performances at different venues. 

Join us

 We practice every Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am at our club house, followed by a light lunch. Session fee is $6. If you are interested in joining us, please feel free to come along to one of our rehearsals. You don’t need to be a singer (but it would help), you just have to have the desire to sing in a group. No audition needed.
